The rank VIP was added to the ranking system soon after the creation of the server. The requirement to obtain this rank used to be to donate a minimum of $5 to the server for one month of VIP status.
After the merger with Shark Tank and the start of the New Badlands era, the VIP concept was rethought, and three additional ranks were added:
- VIP Iron
- VIP Gold
- VIP Quartz
- VIP Diamond
- VIP Cake
VIP Iron, Gold and Quartz are obtained as month-to-month subscriptions. Diamond VIP never expires.
In addition to these ranks, the original VIP rank was also added back in to the server during the Neo Badlands era. This generic VIP rank is awarded to players that purchase special "a la carte" perks such as the flying package or Time Travel as well as special visitors to the server such as plugin developers.
In late 2013 VIP Cake was added for a limited time only which lasted 3 months. This package gave features such as Mob Disguise, In-Game Nickname Changes, Flying, 2 Mob Spawners of Players Choice, a Memorial Plaque and more. The money raised from this package went towards buying the server advertisement on the MAJOR Minecraft voting sites.

- mccarthyjustin2, 37stitches, and madboy123 were granted lifetime VIP Gold for having purchased lifetime VIP on the Old Badlands .
- chris1014 became the servers first member to donate for VIP Quartz.
- Rattis became the servers first member to donate for VIP Cake.
